WSOP 2019 Rolex Spotting

James Calderaro wears his YG President every event. Nice guy. Spoke to him close to an hour the other night during break

I thought I saw a Rolex president bracelet (without a watch) on his other wrist.

Here’s the pay out for the 10,000 buy in main event that ends this next Tuesday

8569 players this year. 2nd largest ever. In 2006 there was 8773 entries, no rebuys in main event so that’s a true number, and first place was US12 million.
First place this year is US 10 million
2nd is US 6 million
3rd is US 4 million
4 is US 3 million
5 is US 2.2 million
6 is US 1.850 million
7 is US 1.525 million
8 is US 1.250 million
9 is US 1 million

Total prize pay out is US 80.548 million for this one tournament

Notable incidents:
Earth quake rocked the ceilings steel beams during this play actually swinging them with contact. Not to many players left but instead kept an eye on their chips. Time was called early to check for structure damage. Then back about 20-30 minutes later to resume play.

A player was caught stealing chips from the empty chair next to him. He was kicked out and trespassed for future events.

Player pulled his pants down, showed his manhood and threw sock at dealer. Kicked out and trespassed.

Top Ten Countries Represented in 2019 WSOP Main Event

Rank Country Players
1 United States 6,110
2 Canada 420
3 United Kingdom 414
4 France 151
5 China 117
6 Germany 105
7 Brazil 104
8 Australia 91
9 Russia 79
10 Austria 73

The 2019 WSOP Main Event drew all 50 states in United States plus Washington D.C.

State Entries
1 California 1,057
2 Nevada 698
3 Florida 540
4 New York 478
5 Texas 442
6 New Jersey 240
7 Illinois 236
8 Massachusetts 194
9 Ohio 169
10 Pennsylvania 157

Age Breakdown of 2019 WSOP Main Event Participants
The average age of 2019 WSOP Main Event participants is 41.46. For males, the average is 41.34 and for females, 44.30.

They have a ladies event that has an entrance fee of 1000. But the first year of this tournament they had some of the men dressed as women so WSOP changed the rules the next year and if you have male parts you can still play but it’ll cost you US 10,000. There’s a transgender bathroom since last year. I expect someone will file law suit stating they are truly transgender just to get into the ladies only tournament eventually.

Tomorrow they play down to 9 players - 35 players remain tonight
Saturday no tournament media interviews and promotional stuff
Sunday 9 players to 6 suppose to start at 18:30 PST
Monday 6 players to 3 18:30 start PST on ESPN
Tuesday 3 players to winner 17:30 PST on ESPN

* start and finish times might change depending on how fast or slow play is on each of the last 3 days. I think total pay out is close to US 280 million for the total tournament. The first week, they had a tournament that drew 28,000 players, complete mess staff wasn’t prepared for this. It had a US 500.00 buy in, rake free. Approximately the WSOP takes 6-7% off the all buy in to pay staff and tip dealers

1 Brazilian left in the 35 final players

I don’t play tournaments. Only cash games as you can get up and leave when you want to. Tournaments are 12-13 hours a day in most cases and you’re stuck at the mercy of breaks for any relief. no thanks.

My guess is stoned, drunk or off his meds. It definitely wasn't a bad beat. He actually wen't all in blind (without looking at his cards) and out of position (before it was his turn to act) then flipped his cards over when there was still pending action in the hand. So after breaking numerous rules they called the floor manager who issued a penalty for exposing his hand when there was still people waiting to act so the guy decided to expose himself. If that wasn't enough, he took off his socks and shoes and actually threw a shoe (not a sock) and hit the dealer.

The crazy thing is, he was holding either Q2 or Q3 I believe which is a terrible hand and actually won the pot but as you can imagine was DQ'd.

After getting thrown out (not sure how he wasn't arrested) he walked over to the Luxor, climbed on top of a table and once again pulled his pants down. This time thankfully he was arrested.

Edit:
After getting disqualified his chips were removed from play but obviously his $10,000 buy in remains in the prize pool

Incredible and thanks for sharing that.

I think it would have been more fair to split his chips into Ante’s and Blinds until his chips were blinded off. That’s the least the other players deserved

Thanks for the great info, my friend. I've played smaller events of the World Series and it's always tons of fun. Hope to take a stab at the main event someday. Didn't realize there is still a Brazilian in the field. Will look him up.

Hi Kaue,
He’s out now, I think there’s 15 players left soon to be 13. They have to get down to 9 tonight. The blinds and ante drain you quickly. Lots of Brasilian 🇧🇷 players this year

Oh, too bad. I noticed we've been going in larger and larger numbers. Who knows, maybe we have a world champ in the horizon soon.

Cheers!

Some of where the high end tournament players go during breaks. Their own chefs, resting, wife etc..

All hooked up to a huge generator with lav service provided and other amenities. All parked since about June 2nd

What a brilliant poker player and absolute joy to watch. Thought it was game over once he took the chip lead but hats off to Ensan who played great the entire final table and didn't get rattled even after losing his massive lead.

yep. both are seasoned players who deserved to win. Sammartino was just a bit too passive 3 handed and HU. you have to be hyper aggressive in those spots. the issue is the pay jumps which effects most players. but ensan played perfectly and stayed aggressive.
