I have some very credible friends who have seen some pretty strange things as well.

When i lived in Tempe for 9 years...my neighbor was an ex marine harrier pilot who was flying for America West. The night of the Phoenix lights he had been in his back yard looking at the comet with his son around 8 pm.....when my friend who lived up by Arrowhead mall in N.W. Phoenix called me on my work cell phone going on about some mile wide UFO that was over Paradise Valley heading towards Tempe Mesa Chandler to the S.E. I know the guy was a big drinker so i thought at first he was drunk and pulling a joke or something so I walk outside in my front yard and get some binoculars i had in my truck. James the pilot had heard the UFO story was flashed on Fox news.....so he and his son went out a few mins later in the front yard and we stood there talking a few mins and was about to go back inside thinking it was all a big joke....when his son who was looking through my binoculars saw it first....it came right over to the east of our house no sound .....huge....i would guess 500 yards or more in size...we got in his car and tried to follow it towards Chandler when we lost sight of it but saw it for a good 10-12 mins. I asked James what the hell did he think it was something from area 51? His son was really freaking out and scared and was thinking Independence Day alien ship.....James said he would have no doubt that anybody could build a ship that big that could fly.....another thing was looking at it was like it was semi transparent...hard to explain but it distorted the stars around it. There it is...my take at one of the biggest UFO sighting on earth....it was not flares....the bombing range is to the S.W. over south mountain park....when i would drive to Harrahs casino at night ive seen flares dropped many times on the Goldwater range...plus gunships shooting tracer rounds from gunships.

dont know who shot this but its close to what we .....saw only what we saw was lower in the sky

Very Cool that you followed it! Some aspects of this sighting remind me of the large black triangle near St.Louis that many Police Departments saw.
