[SURVEY] Purchased a stainless steel professional model in the past 0-2 years?
I realize that experiences vary wildly among those who have purchased professional stainless steel models from a Rolex AD.
I decided to throw together a survey to aggregate basic data about these experiences; as hobbyists, I'm hoping we can get a clear picture about the market. I'll be happy to share the results once I've collected a sizable data set. If you've purchased a stainless steel professional model and would like to partake in this study, the SurveyMonkey link is here. I thank you in advance! p.s.- if you're active on the r/rolex subreddit, I posted the survey link there as well. Your answers are confidential and only analyzed/processed results will be shared. |

So far, 6 responses- thanks! Feel free to share the link with anyone you know who's recently purchased a SS model. The more data we have, the more likely we're able to draw some conclusions.

The survey is floored.
I have bought 5 SS watches in the past year. There is no allowance for more than one purchase.

Now, if you've purchased multiple SS models at once, feel free to jot down the models in the "other" text field in Q1. Once again, thanks for taking the time to fill it out! |

No one knows, so many stories about people getting a SS sports of their choice from an AD without any purchase history or relationship, and as many complaints about not being able to obtain one no matter what they do. That’s what this survey aims to do, get enough responses to find out if it’s normal. AD practices vary so widely, from country to country and region to region. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Woops- fixed. I forgot to adjust that when copying+pasting the other GMT references. Thanks! Looking forward to sharing results when we have a substantial dataset.

completed the survey - share the results!
I believe the AD's sell the most in demand models to their best customers or to people who spend a lot of money with them. Just my $0.02.

So far, we have 79 results, and that's fantastic- but we'll need a lot more. I'll continue to spread links around other places online, in the meantime, a big "thank you" to everyone who has participated.
Bumping this thread certainly doesn't hurt the exposure The data collected so far casts serious doubt on that; there are a lot of people who have purchased a stainless steel professional without necessarily having established a "loyalty" history with their AD. Of course we'll need a lot more data.

Either that or they don't want to admit buying numerous models they didn't want, lol

That’s possible, and very possibly people who have been lucky are much more likely to spend time doing the survey because it makes them feel really, really good about themselves. Admitting one had to spend money or ‘debase’ oneself by cultivating a relationship isn’t as much fun. Also, the data set is still very small, and possibly certain regions are over/under represented as far as respondents, and correspondingly forum members are concerned. Most Chinese for example still aren’t proficient enough in English to frequent this forum. And it’s well known that they now account for a massive chunk of Rolex demand at every AD in most major cities, especially in East Asia and Australia. So there are very severe limitations as to the possible results of the survey. There’s probably a Chinese language Rolex forum somewhere on the Internet. Different ADs have different practices in different regions, and parts of the world. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
