when you see other peoples favourites, you could easily put some of these as your own, i suppose with so much talent, its best to say 'one of my favourites', i mean i forgot all about john denver, george michael, tony bennett, all brilliant, and so easy to become my favourite all time vocalist on any other day.

Too many to name. Lots of good ones here.
Of course there is the technically great and the emotionally moving which often aren't the same people. MeatLoaf? With Jim Steinman's paradoxical songs are fun. |

Country
Sammi Smith from the '70s.
Such a lovely, husky voice. Left school at 11 yrs old to perform, passed away at 61. A beautiful person gone so young. Her big hit, gold disc song was "Help Me Make It Through The Night", composed by Kris Kristofferson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HonH-w7mGlQ My favorite version of: "Today I Started Loving You Again" by Sammi, but was recorded by many artists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKcgtaoNo9E ~~~~~~~ Merle Haggard ("Hag"), numerous honors and awards including Kennedy Center Honor in 2010. A couple of my favorites: "Someday We'll Look Back" (and say it was fun): A timeless message. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qn64FUlhsKU "That's the Way Love Goes" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhaju2pwrJg ~~~ Also love the famous "Eagles".
