i never tire of reading about this, never tire of documentaries, i was only 1 at the time, but everybody knows the enormity of what the yanks did, it was beyond brilliant, a breathtaking achievement, and currently still never surpassed.
I salute NASA, and all its employees, it was the best money ever spent. Mankind was on a roll. |

Your welcome.
This is happening now. It's a "live feed" of Apolo 11 from 50 years down to the second; REAL TIME. ALL of the feeds. It launched around 9:30am this morning. The moonwalk is Saturday, splashdown is a week from Thursday. You can literally just open your computer and have a live feed of the three of them chatting in the capsule. Check it out!! A friend of my Sis-In-Law who works at Nasa created the page. https://apolloinrealtime.org/11/?t=rt |

My first conscious memory as a child was being woken up to watch the landing and Neil take his step/leap...

What amazes me too are the Voyager 1 and 2 missions. 30 years or so to reach Pluto etc and now on an interstellar mission.

I got to meet Neil Armstrong at a “Space Station” meeting when I worked at MCDonnell Douglas Space Systems in Huntington Beach back in the late 80’s. My awesome space encounter!

I remember the updates by David Brinkley on the NBC news, and marveling at the landing ! As a 7 year old farm boy, with one channel available, watching on a 19” B&W television, this was the most amazing event I could ever imagine.
Watching related documentaries every evening this week, and saving the landing parts for Saturday night !

It is so incredibly amazing that a rocket can launch...with people in it...and then land on the moon and come back again.
I just find this whole space travel amazing. When I can I run outside to watch the international space station fly overhead I do it. In case anyone is interested here is a place to signup to get texts when it will be overhead to you locally. https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/signup.cfm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I highly recommend the recently released documentary “Apollo 11”. It’s extraordinary. It is best experienced in an IMAX theatre.

i am currently reading about apollo 10, the final dress rehearsal for the landings, its saying that nasa knew the temptation presented to the astronauts was high, as they were very near the surface, to actually jump the order and land the module, so they left the fuel short on the return tanks, so anybody thinking of landing would know they were there for eternity, i dont know if the article i am reading is true, but i am sure it can be verified or not as the case may be, by somebody.
Young people need to get inspired by what happened, and what is happening now and in the future, man is going back, its incredible, some say by 2024. |

Watch the Movie, "Apollo 11." It's available and does a really nice job of recapping everything from countdown problems to landing and isolation. I forget where I streamed it from however it was fantastic.
I was up in Maine at the time working at a boy's camp and glued to the television down in the bungalow on July 20th when the first real moon walk occurred. Take that, Michael Jackson. |

That looks great, nice to see that its getting the recognition it deserves, i always felt that not a big enough fuss was made when neil armstrong died in 2012, he should have had a state funeral, but then maybe he wasn't like that as a person. |

Can’t believe conspiracy theorists still deny it happened!
As if you could cover that lot up with so many people involved! Watched the Ryan Gosling film about Neil Armstrong last night, really good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
