Pick 3 of these 4 for your Patek collection
Okay, one more, and a follow up to the 5712/1a vs. 5711/1r Head-to-Head thread.
Which 3 would you pick? Which one would go out to pasture? 5170p 3940p 5711/1r 5712/1a Rationale always welcomed.

I’d sell them all and buy a 5270P and a FP Journe perpetual in platinum!

No easy answer but I guess I would pick the one I wore the least to go. I would think that would be the 3940P but since i’ve never tried one on who knows. The other 3 I have worn and considered buying all 3.
5170P I would pick over a 5270P. |

5711R would be on the block if it were me but I am strictly a white metal fan.

It's crazy, but there already is a 5270P listed in the TRF Classifieds, as of today!

All gorgeous pieces and if I had to really choose one to let go, it would be the 3940 also. On a side note, glad you didn’t put the Platona in there love that thing!

I’d let the 5712 go. Then you’d have pc, chrono, and simple 3 hander.

Shaz has listed a 5270P for slightly above retail. Previously I have noted that his prices generally reflects the current market value. |

Most of the answers choosing the 3940P to go are not liking its small size by today’s standards. Why fight, dump the 3940.

Holy christ.......Talk about a true 1st world problem here lol. I love to hate you Steve.
You know my answer but I'll put it out there, the 5711r would be the one to go......but good god I would keep all of them if I could (only because I know you can pull off the RG....not me though). I see a lot of people saying the 3940p.....I can see the logic there but to me 3940p could very well be the perfect Patek. They got that watch so right at first and IMO never got any PC's afterwards perfect like they did with the 3940p. Course if you're looking at PCC afterwards.....things change quite quickly. But sorry I just couldn't let go of a 3940p because it's really the truest pillar/largest part of Patek's history. Philippe Stern knew what's up. |

I would keep the 5170p, the rest don't matter.
