HELP. DD stopped

My DD has stopped and I am worried.
I wore the DD out on Saturday evening. I then put it in the safe and I wound it on Monday evening and I was winding it this evening with my others.
... tonight I was trying to give it 40 total rotation winds. After a while ~35 I think, I felt a strange feel on the winding stem/crown and the watch stopped. I pushed the crown back in with no change. I unwound the crown and advanced the hands considering that perhaps tension needs to be relieved.. Nothing... I then wind in the crown and shake the watch a bit. THe second hand advances ~5 seconds then stops. This I repeated a few times. the second hand also seems to tock back and forth just slightly..
Advice needed..
Anything I can do to get it working again? if not, anything that needs to be done right away until I can get it in to Rolex SVC?

TIA..

When was the last time the watch was serviced? Sounds as though it maybe due for one.

I wouldn't think you need to do anything special. Might want to give it another 40 winds again just in case. I guess I'm not convinced yet.

FYI. this is a Single Quick set model.
the date wheel advances just fine..
I can also advance the hands and at 12(2400) the day wheel and the date wheel advance properly.
check this out..
when I start unscrewing the crown/stem, I am turning CCw. at that time, I can hear the clicking as if I were on the wind counter turn. The crown also pops out as if it had loaded tension without having to pull the crown after unscrewing. I
This is not the way it was and not the way my Sub or SD act.
Being mechanical minded, I can imagine that something (gear/sprocket) cam loose or bound on the stem.
Maybe when at the svc center, I will have a meteorite dial and a domed bezzle.. Kind of wanted the upgrades anyway..

Did you try to wind it again?

It shouldn't be back and forth, regardless maybe it is time for RSC or a good watchmaker to take a look at the watch.

I am in agreement.. I will send it to the RSC this week.
the back and forth that I describe is as I wind all my watches..
there is wind on clockwise rotation then the ratcheting on the counter turn of the counter-clockwise stroke.
that ratchet sound it also now when I am unscrewing from the threads..

thanks for the help Dan..Kind of makes me sick.. at least I have some backup watches.
I will contact the RSC tomorrow and get the procedure..

When winding you should only wind it in a clockwise direction. I don't understand why you would wind it in a counterclockwise direction.
