mid-80s 5513 or mid-60s 5513?

hi guys,

i'm thinking about these two subs offered to me:

1) 1965 5513, service replacement dial and hands, mid-5k (no band)

2) 1985 5513, service replacement bezel, mid-4k (no band)

which one would you consider (or none at all)?

thx in advance for any and all input!

If you want to get into vintage, get one with its original dial, hands and as much else as possible.

If you want to get into vintage, mid-80's probably not really old enough.

Neither.

What Vincent said..

Also, while finding a bargain on a vintage Sub is still out there and does happen, paying a little more for an all original example from a reputable dealer is clearly the way to go...when I say pay a little more I mean like $2-$3k more unfortunately... peace of mind goes a long way in my book. Good luck

I would pass on both of those and look for a 5513 with matte finish dial with no WG surrounds on the hour markers

Pass both.

Your patience will be rewarded. The extra money spent forgotten.
