Datejust 1603 Question

I am interested in a 1603 blue sigma dial birth year (1972) Datejust from a reputable online vender. However the caseback is from a 1601 and the bezel is fluted WG from a 1601. Otherwise, it seems to be in good working order and everything else is original. Does anyone see a problem with this or is this something that is done frequently at servicing like switching out the caseback or bezel? Thank you.

I would not be overly concerned: the casebacks are frequently interchanged, sometimes (I've been lead to believe) even at service. The bezel could have been owner-installed. These are not value flags if the rest of the watch is correct, but they do encourage you to be more diligent in your scrutiny of the piece. As for "reputable online vendor", that can sometimes be a bit of an oxymoron. Have you checked out the trusted sellers on this forum and the list of known bad guys? It should be fairly easy to find a 1972 completely correct, there are many.
