Oh man, yeah it's the down side to having a Chronograph. Hat being said it's totally worth it if you can find an independent as mentioned above to do the same quality for for a lot less.

While $750 is much better than $980, I'm still shocked at the price of such a full service. Lots of ways to justify those prices. Percentage of the cost of a new watch, getting certified Omega service and their warranty, etc. But it's still quite a layout. It's one more reason I prefer newer model Speedmasters vs. classics.

She said she would have caught up in the final paperwork anyway, and I would not have been charged a higher price. Sounds a little sketchy with me, but she made it right (though I have my doubts that would have happened without calling them out). Anyway, now the price is 750 and the warranty is two years. Again, to those in this thread that brought that to my attention so I could realize these benefits, thank you. Another great benefit of this forum.
So are you still "disappointed" in Omega?

I would say less so. Im fine with paying a reasonable price for service of this chronograph (though as some have stated it's probably still a little high, but that's what you get for going for the mother company), and I think a 2 year warranty is reasonable. So no, not as disappointed as I initially was.

Yep. I agree. Had I not questioned it they would have gladly taken my money I suspect. But after I did they were quickly reasonable to adjust the cost. And the watch is pristine after returning from service. So overall it worked out.

I am assuming that they just haven't adjusted there pricing since the pound lost so much value. $750/1.60, (the old pound to dollar exchange rate) = 470 pounds.

I finally received my Speedy back from Swatch in Fla, full service and 753 bucks. Brought it home and it ran for about 4 hours and quit. Also noticed the tach bezel alignment was off. Back it went and still waiting to get it back.. again. That was 3 weeks ago.
