1016 dial...Relumed? What do you think?

What are your thoughts on this 1016? Relumed dial? Hard to tell through that crystal.

Thanks,

AN

While I'm far from an expert I'd say definitely. Look at the crown, the S in superlative and the O in officially both look off also.

Agree.. & the dial would have to be uncased with the crystal in it's current state.
But I don't see any red flags from what i can see.

If the plastic crystal were to be replaced or polished I believe the text and luminous paint application would appear all-original. Scrapes, scratches and scuffs to an old plastic crystal can make the dial text look off. An added complexity is that the focusing mechanism on a camera has a hard time delineating the area of focus when it's analyzing a superficial/visible crack as well as the underlying dial text. The end result is a "soft" appearance that in actuality is not a true representation.
Lastly, even though the lume application on the 6 hour marker looks heavy-handed, it's fairly common to see it on this era 1016...it's how it left the factory.
Just my 2 cents; it will be interesting to see what others think.
