While I'm far from an expert I'd say definitely. Look at the crown, the S in superlative and the O in officially both look off also.

If the plastic crystal were to be replaced or polished I believe the text and luminous paint application would appear all-original. Scrapes, scratches and scuffs to an old plastic crystal can make the dial text look off. An added complexity is that the focusing mechanism on a camera has a hard time delineating the area of focus when it's analyzing a superficial/visible crack as well as the underlying dial text. The end result is a "soft" appearance that in actuality is not a true representation. Lastly, even though the lume application on the 6 hour marker looks heavy-handed, it's fairly common to see it on this era 1016...it's how it left the factory. Just my 2 cents; it will be interesting to see what others think. _________ Instagram: @onthedial |
