Will a solid half-link fit into a hollow link bracelet?

The latest in my ongoing saga to get the perfect fit on my 14060M:

I've figured out that the half-link that comes with new Submariners is the right length to allow me to fit between two micro-adjust holes. The question is: can I fit a solid-link into a older style hollow-link Oyster bracelet?
