No expert on authenticity but its expensive IMO. In that condition I would say fair value is probably near $5200 considering a visit to the RSC might be around $700. Better examples out there.

Based on USELESS photos Watch looks 51% genuine compared to 49% fake.

Unless seller can supply decent dial photos - walk!

You will need to have it opened to ensure it is ALL 100% genuine.

Not correct.
Decent photos can authenticate this piece

agreed, not worth the time to make a best offer I suppose. a budget of $5800-$6500 is what I am setting for a gmt master 2 purchase

How can you possibly authenticate the watch is 100% genuine without ever seeing the movement? How can you even know it has a movement?

In 2014 5200 would be the right price.

The watch is authentic - no doubt - with the period correct swiss-only luminova dial. Cyclops magnification does seem low so perhaps has an aftermarket crystal, although the crystal is scratched anyway. And yes overpriced, although not grossly so. Everything GMT has skyrocketed of late.

Looks right. The SWISS only is the A serial number. I have all the info on the ROLEX GMT-MASTER book. The watch has the correct hand stack for Rolex. I still won't trust Ebay. I would want to see it and for that price you can really get one at Rolex as certified or one here from a trusted dealer. Just my opinion.

Look in classified ads here, go for a trusted seller here, do your homework, don't get duped by the scum scammers, that are hell bent in getting their grubby hands on your hard earned. Best of luck.

My first Ebay experience was a long time ago and I vetted the guy a long time. It was for a 16803 black and gold. So I didn't know what I know now about Rolex so I pulled the pin and brought it from him on Ebay. I got it I looked amazing. So the first thing I do was drive down to 5th Ave and take it for service. Always heard to verify and service any Rolex you get. So I will never forget. The way it was set up then, don't know now, was a counter around the whole room and they go behind the walls. And they have displays of rolex all around and nice sofas.

So I walk up to the counter and put the watch in a little coffin looking thing and the lady ask what is the problem. I told her I just brought the watch and I would like to verify that it was real and service it if it was. She said have a seat. I did.

She came back about 20 mins later. Calls me up to the counter. Tells me that they will not service the watch. I asked why. She had a list. The case was for a stainless sub. The movement was from a date just. The crystal and bezel and band were aftermarket. The clasp was fake. So now I am angry. I just got had.

So of course I went through Ebay and got every penny back. But that was the last time I dealt with buying a rolex on Ebay. I buy broken movements and parts and stuff and even then I get had sometimes. I would say out of 30 Ebay buys 2 are fake. But they are great at giving me my money back. Right now there is a fake 16610 case on Ebay. I sent notification to Ebay and they seem to do nothing,. Still there.
