OEM or aftermarket bracelet for Explorer II

I am considering purchasing an Explorer II head only.

I will want to find a steel bracelet for the watch...Are there any aftermarket bracelets of a quality that is suitable for the Explorer II or will I need to search for an OEM bracelet?

Just my opinion, but get OEM.

It's kinda like bringing your Lamborghini into Walmart for tires and an oil change...

But that's just me. I'm a stickler for stuff like that. Just like box and papers.

OEM or nothing IMO... perhaps a NATO (I cannot believe I just said that ). I prefer the SS bracelet but just trying to give you some options

Aftermarket will be roughly similar quality. The finish will be a little bit off from the Rolex SS factory finish. Not sure if bracelet will be 904L steel. At the end of the day, OEM all the way.

OEM all the way!!..... Although there is no harm in trying other bracelets for variation if you do get bored with it.

A leather strap does change the look of the watch a lot!!

buy a 20 dollar cheap chineese copy , then while you wear the watch keep an eye open for a genuine bracelet. that way you get to wear it and still have the time to look about some. after all 20 dollars is take away food money.

All chinese fakes, that I have seen recently had significant faults with the bracelet screws (already sticking out) and clasp (simply falling apart).

So, in my opinion to use a fake bracelet from China is not a good idea, you'll likely loose the fake bracelet AND the real watch.

Do it on a nato until you can find a nice gently used one on here or another watch forum. Even ebay..

The main fear I would have with a cheap aftermarket is the potential for failure (bad spring bar or pin/screw) at a moment where the watch is lost or damaged beyond repair.

Good luck!

ive seen a couple of really nice fake bracelets , maybe they are the full 25 dollar ones , but good points regarding loss or damage. what about a strap till a bracelet turns up.

OEM.

You don´t know what you get when buying aftermarket, you might get allergi because of bad steel.

Ít should be possible to find a good pre-owned bracelet, perhaps on the Sales Corner here.

I think that too many are confusing fake bracelets with aftermarket bracelets..

The first is illegal and usually cheaply made to deceive, the latter is no different than putting any aftermarket bracelet on any watch... it's done all the time..

Check the good quality aftermarket bracelets at The Watch Prince and at QualityTyme.net (Brozeks shop who wrote "The Rolex Report")

Yes, there are some very nice, high quality aftermarket bracelets out there if you choose to go that route.
