Question: Do they still make the Tapestry dial or is it something I would have to find used?

My understanding is that the Tapestry dial was discontinued some time ago.

Any of the old ones with fine ticks for a chapter ring rather than a boxy band, correspondingly longer and thinner stick markers, and a satin sunburst finish. Basically designs that emphasize the radial details of a wristwatch.

They don't make them like that any more in 36mm, which is odd because the new designs make the dials look smaller. You can still get a reasonably clean dial in a Datejust II, but I wish those stick markers were slimmer (and the rehaut engraving was gone).

This would be my choice. Possible second, black face gold batons.

I prefer the black/rhodium bullseye dial. It is among the classiest dials in my book.

The beauty of the Datejust is there is no answer to this question !

Everyone loves a few and no one can say they can't find one they like.

Found this on an old TRF thread.

I really like this dial a lot. Too bad it's a hard one to source. I want another Rolex but i haven't determined my budget yet. This watch falls under 5k and i love that dial. I want it and so does my wallet.

I have a quick question for you date just owner's.
Are the centre links on a jubilee Date Just 18k/SS WG bezel made of WG or are they made of SS?
If it's SS that means only the fluted bezel is gold?

Tapestry dials are very nice. If and when I get a 116234, it will be a Blue Stick dial.

Guess I'm fickle, this just became my favourite after noticing those details you hi-lighted.
Love it. What reference number is this, what years was it made like this.... anyone?....
