watch and wedding ring
What are your thoughts on SS watch with YG wedding ring? Much ado about nothing?

Funny as I had same concerns a while back. My solution (probably not going to be too popular! heh heh):

Good question. I wondered how this was handled. I don't plan on buying gold, but I know some people have gold rings from when they got married previously. Think it wouldn't be noticeable unless watch and ring were worn on same side.

I have a platinum wedding ring........ It's going to be lonely for a long time yet unless I sell a kidney. Looks perfectly fine with SS and my TT

I had a TT ring. I had to replace it due to some weight loss and the fact they couldn't size it any smaller. I replaced it with platinum. All of my watches are SS.

I wear my gold wedding ring on the right hand (as some religious denominations do) so it is less of a problem as I wear my watch on the traditional left. That said, I have other rings (inherited) that I like to wear on the left hand. Given that, I have a tendency to want a watch with at least SOME gold on it for dress occasions. Day to day, I care a good bit less.
This watch on the far left might just be what I have been looking for.... |

I'm sorry I can't help, I am very allergic to wedding rings.

I wouldn't sweat it, guys don't have to really match stuff like that, if you take it too literally it looks more like OCD to me than anything else.

Agree. but I also think the very existence of this site and its popularity indicates a little OCD in all of us.....

Leave the wedding ring at home :-)
On a more serious side, I OCD on this stuff and that's why I will have two watches. |

I had the same issue and traded my YG wedding band in for a Cobalt band. I think it looks better if the watch and wedding ring match, but others feel differently.
Read this thread I started. Some good thoughts on here http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=316966 |

No thoughts, YG wedding ring and just pick a watch SS/YG/TT doesn't matter...

Ive been married for 30 years and other than my wedding day I have never worn a ring. Funny thing is that my wife has always been ok with that... they ain't making women like her anymore

Just one man's opinion, but I can't imagine having two wedding rings. My ring is platinum, it's the one I got married with, I never take it off, and I can't imagine having an alternate. To me it's not like brass vs silver belt buckles where you have multiple belts. It's not an accessary—it may as well be a body part.
Will I let that stop my from wearing a gold watch? No way! I don't currently have a gold watch but was hoping to pick one up in the coming year, and I'm sure I'll enjoy wearing it with my platinum ring—matching metals be damned! |

watch and wedding ring
I have the privilege of wearing my dad's wedding band - it's YG, and my Rolex is SS.
Ring on lefthand, watch on right wrist. 👍

I have a platinum wedding band as well, and I'm not worried about matching it with a platinum watch... but stainless steel goes well with it.
