Guess who won

I had a wine tasting party. Bought 5 Cabs, all California, mostly 2007, and with 5 judges on a blind taste experience. Here is a picture of the 5 wines. The BV Georges de la Tour won by a wide margin.

Heading up to Healdsburg tomorrow to spend a couple nights for Mother's Day and my wife's birthday (Tuesday). Bringing the kids but still planning on taking a tour of Pride Mountain Vineyards. Will be pretty low-key with the kiddos in tow, but still looking forward to a relaxing couple of days away from the city.

Cheers everyone!

Great, as the main part is putting up with us. And yup humor and being cute is cherry on top as she is both from my short time meeting her

My father in law's paint horse ranch in Kalispell, Montana happens to be called Artemis Acres.

Let's figure this out:
Nice bottle for sure for a Saturday night home steak dinner

Salad could be yellow tomato or yellow peppers not sure from pic
Feta cheese, very white for Feta, could be a trick picture !
Maybe some spinach and or Arugula with possible butter head lettuce

Nice red potatoes with garlic and butter and parsley

And has to be Rib-eye due to how juicy that looks and the right side looks split unless you put in some butter and then I'd say filet. But sticking to Rib-eye

EDIT: not sitting very long because not much steak drippings on the plate unless you sat it on a another to rest then moved to dinner plate so medium rare cause it's so plump but could be just medium

What do you say Roger ?

Hey Mark, no it was not me. I wish I owned Phil's BBQ, because it is always packed and the food is very good. I'm around but been busy. A 10 month old girl running around the house keeps me on my toes.

Hope you're doing well, my friend!

Good eye, although the salad was tough to see since it wasn't a closeup. Roasted yellow beets with goat cheese and apples on the mixed baby greens salad with radish slivers and a citrus vinaigrette.

Correct on the red potatoes with garlic and parsley.

The steak was a medium rare filet seasoned with just salt and pepper before grilling - rested on another plate for about 10 minutes (good eye).

The Stag's Leap Artemis was a nod to my father-in-law as his paint horse guest ranch in Kalispell, MT is called Artemis Acres.

If you are a griller, PM me your address and I'll send you some of our homemade dry rub that we use as a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I have some on the pork shoulders on the smoker right now. Great on chicken, pork and shrimp as well.

Looking great.
For years,I have been looking for a mutual friend with a former Stags Leap winemaker.
Nikki Pruss DPM. A fellow podiatrist was their winemaker for a while.
I have been trying to find a common link in a small profession for a long time.

Very good bottle, and it looks like you had a great meal!

@G8RDPM - yes, it was delicious and a big wine like that pairs so well with a steak. We really enjoyed it, especially on the patio with the waterfall - just getting started with outside dinners here in Colorado.

A wonderful old label from the Pokolbin area of the Hunter Valley, New South Wales.
One of the early wines I drank as a 20 yo wine aficionado in the mid '70s.
Lots of backbone and intensity and would reward a bit longer in the cellar.

Humm, something seems fishy here and I don't think it's their seafood market. The retail on the Silver Oak Alexander and Napa Valley ones are $75 & $125, respectively.

I think they put the highest resale price on the market for the retail price and then you still see a better deal on the single bottle and 6-bottle sale price. Just trying to make the consumer feel like they are getting Great deal rather than a Good deal. The year could make a difference but did not see it as the shelves were empty.
