Patek Philippe quality control issue

Brought a brand new double seal 5390G in one of the authorise deal here in Hong Kong, cut the seal open myself at the shop, then brought it on the spot.
Two days later find out there is some scratch on the gold rotor under the glass, go back to the dealer and say will send right back to swiss to fix it.
have to wait at least one and half month.......
what kind of quality control is that for a 65k usd watch?

Unacceptable....amazing that they actually had one lying around and not pre purchased. A sign of the times in HK!

One wonders where it had been unsealed...I know you said it was double sealed, but these are such huge defects.

I looked them up on the Patek website and they're a legit AD with multiple locations. Careless assembly by Patek, same as when they do a repair and mark up the watch with their tools. I wonder if they take imitation money?

The receipt says "Repaired Item" and "Complete Overhaul" is checked?

Truly amazing! If PP didn't hype their QC all the time this wouldn't be a big deal. But that's all they do!

Speak to Cecilia there and I am sure she will ensure you get sorted ASAP. Mention tell gweilo Roger suggested you speak to her. This assumes it was the QRC branch.

Yes Sir , you are absolute correct there is other flaws on the rotor, which is hard to highlight so I just leave it that away.
If you look at the rotor under sun light, it clearly show that the rotor have uneven polished

Already wear the watch for a few days, and not looking to get my money back.
Just want to raise the attention to fellow members when buying a Patek.
Many watches are purchase under Double sealed or single sealed without even opening the plastic bag, because we all assume only the best come out of Patek and that was not necessary........ may be we should

may be I buy into their advertisement too much and really believe hundreds of hours were spent into polishing every watches to their perfection, and only the best come out of Patek

Yes they did spend hundreds of hours polishing it...just when they dropped it in the floor the problem occurred!
