Yes, I set mine on the minute marker with the seconds hand at 12.

I am also aware that as I push in the crown my watch is running fast or slow from that point (all my watches not just Rolex) but until the next change up setting it this way does give me an update as to how a watch is running.

I just set the minute hand where it should be without worrying about the second hand. I figure it's a mechanical watch and it will gain/lose a few seconds here and there. What's the point of setting it *precisely* with the atomic clock, unless you're planning to track the actual gain/loss? If you're that OCD, then I assume you reset it every time you realize it doesn't match the atomic clock perfectly?

Ummm, yup. There's an iPhone atomic clock app or so....... I do this to reset my Rolex to correct atomic time once in a while. Thanks for reminding me; gotta rest the time on my Sub - apparently running 14 seconds too slow in the last couple of weeks or so.

There is an app watchcheck that I use to set. But I hack at any time, I'm too impatient to wait for a specific time.

I think if you own a precise mechanical timepiece, you're somewhat predisposed to this strain of madness.

Rolex is a standard for precision and accuracy.

We should uphold this as we go about our business.

Just in case we are asked for the time.

I completely agree. I also have a tendency to check the accuracy of my watches so thats another reason to set it properly.

What do you guys do to set the non-hackable watches precisely?

My 11610 was about 16 seconds fast per day. I never worried about it. My DD40 is right on the money so I set the minute marker as precisely as possible.

Steve
Why would anyone not do this? Seriously.

Like with most of you i admit do it too. One reason i do that is i check how many seconds i have gained or lost the following day.

Nah I reset mine every 3 weeks or so (give it a full wind, just because I heard it's good to do and it's fun. Or I reset it if I need to change the date.)

Every time for me. I back up the minute hand to the marker as well for ultimate Rolex accuracy

Pffft, you aren't really OCD unless you confirm the minute hand position with a loupe.

Yep, count me in. It usually takes about ten minutes for me to set the time... I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes doesn't everyone

One of the reasons I own a Jungens mega solar and a Citizen Solar and 3 wall clocks which sync to the atomic clock at 2am every night are for the joy of watching them being precisely in sync to the exact second.

Absolutely.
Sometimes takes 10 minutes to get the minute hand dead on the minute marker as the seconds pass the 12
OCD regards!

If WIS didn't do this kind of stuff you'd have to question whether they were really watch nuts.
