What does your gut tell you to do?
I'd personally keep the YM as the platinum dial is beautiful.

I'm not a fan of numerals on the DJ as I prefer stick markers. Secondly, while a nice watch, the DJII has just been superseded by the arguably better proportioned DJ41, so you might start to think that it is a bit frumpy in comparison. In the end though, it comes down to whether you want a sportier or dressier watch.

That's the hard part as I'm really torn.. I like the size and look of the djII as much as the YM... I've got a few other sport models so I'm not sacrificing that aspect... I'm really on the fence here $ for $ I think they are worth similar and with his being newer and full set sort of justifies the price difference
But again can't really say I'm swinging either way on this trade

Good point.... see this is why I'm here lol!!

Not concerned about the dress vs sport and I've got a few of each already so it doesn't really matter in that respect

Please forgive my ignorence but isnt the dj41 apart from a new movement almost exactly the same as a dj2 in some models ie without a jubilee?
the "new" dj41 with blue dial,,oyster and fluted looks exactly the same as my dj2,,,,,
i would go for dj2,,enjoying a break from sports watches as my daily hacker and the dj2 ticks all the boxes for me,,,,jay[ATTACH]SAM_4862.jpg

Based on the fact that you have other watches and the Yacht Master does not have the box and papers and it is older I would do the trade. The DJ II is a great watch and very wearable. I have owned several YM over the years and I have like them but just something is slightly off to me. I have always flipped out and never looked back. I would offer the seller the midpoint of the $700 he wants and see where it goes. Keep us posted.

I would do it without the 700 bucks payment.
YM is a harder model to sell and DJ is more popular but if you sell your watch and add 700 $ you are in a position to pick whatever other ss DJ you might fancy.

Tough call.. I personally love that dial on the DJ2, and the bracelet will walk all over the YM. Having said that, the YM still has its charm. Personally, i'd go DJ2, but haggle on the cash amount.

I think the DJ does a better job as a dress watcch than the YM... so if you're looking for dressier that's the choice. Plus for your YM and $700 you get a watch newer by 7 years and a complete set. That alone makes the trade seem worthwhile to me.

My opinion: Trade-in Datejust and keep YM. Agree with previous poster, I'm not a fan of numbers on watch face preferring stick marks but that's my preference.

I would keep the YM for both its looks and the platinum bezel + dial. The dial in particular is pretty unique in that I think is the only platinum dial Rolex has made, and it is discontinued. I am not saying it's going to be collectible as quite a lot were made, but it is a bit special.

IMO, it really just depends what else is in the collection and what you want to wear.

If you're sports watch heavy (and yes I know the DJ is a sports watch), then I think the DJ makes a nice break...but man, that YM is a classic.

I guess I would do this: wait until the DJ41 steel models start showing up and see if you like any of these as well as the 334 you're showing. If you still feel like a DJ is needed in the collection, go for which ever one has your heart.
