It's the opposite on a helicopter, the pilot usually sits on the right.

Looks dramatic. I flew a Cessna 182RG Turbo for many years out of Hartford, Ct. Lots of actual IFR time.

Technically, and for instrument flying only, you need a clock (watch will work, or a panel mounted clock) with a sweep second hand. So a Sub would work just fine for a pilot's watch!

You can do the GMT conversion in your head; it's pretty simple math.

Can't tell from the pics but that looks to be a helicopter? RW pilots typically sit on the right side with the collective & throttle in their right hand and the cyclic in the left.
