2003 GMT Pepsi

Been saving like a squrriel putting away nuts for that SD43... Even though I have never actually seen one in person, much less even tried one on. The red font, 43mm, improved bracelet width really seems to be a home run for me.

All that being said, I tried on a 2003 GMT Pepsi today and WOW! I think I may be in love! looking for some images from my friendly, fellow TRF members if anyone owns one. I have 2006 11610 that I still adore and wear quit a bit.

I'm thinking it will be at least a year until the SD43 (or if you prefer, SD50) will either be widely available and prices coming into a "calm" range. Maybe I pick something up to hold me over?

Thoughts?

Without a doubt get the 16710. One of my all time favourites. Super comfy, rugged, one of the best looking imho, and just like real estate they aren't making anymore. If it's a nice example swoop it up. The SD will be much easier to obtain in the years to come

Question about these: does the bezel have 60 or 120 clicks? Or is it 24 like the newer GMTs?

I feel they are completely different watches. I would lean toward the 5-digit reference in this case.

My Pepsi has become my daily. It even took the spot of my BLNR.

The 16710 is bumper to bumper badass. I just swapped in my pepsi insert yesterday. Get one and enjoy it!

I too, once had a pepsi but flipped it.

I thought about getting another one - but the ones I liked were all $7,000 or higher.
A little steep to pay for a 20 year old stainless watch.

Exactly 2 weeks ago I received a F serial (2003,2004,2005) 16713.
No holes, 2 tone. $7,100 AND a complete set - box, papers, bezel protector, both hang tags.

It's interesting how much love the pepsi gets over coke, and how much coke gets over the LN bezel.

Sort of how everyone flipped over the BLNR when the LN was the same watch - 1/2 a blue belzel.

Anyhoo - I wonder why the 2 tone doesn't get more love?

For me, the price was right. When I opened the box the bracelet was stiff like a watch that had not been worn in 12 years.

Love it!

Good luck to you!

It's the red/blue towards the neutral SS that makes the 16710 for me.

Thank you! That's so cool. I love the GMT, but I don't like on the new GMT's that there are only 24 "clicks". I get it for the functionality, but It would be nice to be able to use the bezel as a timer function as well.

The new SD will be around for some time in the future. Get the GMT, especially if you tried it on and loved it.

Well, here she is

I have not purchased it, just took some pics. My concerns are:

1) No box, no papers.
2) 2 scratches on crystal that you really have to struggle to find. (ok, I can live with this)
3) price is $6750 (NO idea if that is a great, good or high price)
