Icon10 Rolex'17 invitation to Coombe Abbey Hotel - Pics heavy

Been invited to another BaselWorld'17 preview again but this time over at Warwickshire. Since having attended the preview night over at Rolex Boutique London, I wasn't sure if I should go again. The venue was at Coombe Abbey Hotel which is a rather nice historic building, I thought why not and I'm glad I did.

I think it was a good idea to host it in one place by Goldsmiths Luxury, Watches of Switzerland and Mappin&Webb. The atmosphere that evening was much better and well put together. A shout out to Sam, Henry and Omar from Goldsmiths B'ham for looking after us that evening.

Coombe Abbey hotel

The reception, a chronological timeline of Goldsmiths and Rolex history

Champagne and canapés to start off the evening. Various ADs from Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham was there (I believe there were more)
We were brought upstairs shortly after where the watches were displayed.

I shall let the pictures speak from here

Since I've already checked out the Professional models in London, I thought I'd spend a bit more time on others as well. The Datejust41 on jubilee bracelet is gorgeous. My wife thinks so too and she loves the new DJ28.

The blue dial did it for me.

Food was served but can't decide between them both

A short brief introduction about the event and new releases

We've probably have seen these too many times now

The white gold Daytona is gorgeous

Previous models were on display as well and some were available to purchase but we can guess which ones were not.

The platona is another striking one

How many diamonds can you fit in a watch

Too blinged out. We should have a thread, 'will my diamonds scratch my sapphire crystal?

We stayed till closing and enjoyed the overall experience. Staff weren't pushy and was very accomodating. I guess it's more relaxed than being in a store.

Price guides and the new '17-18 catalogues

The chocolates was a nice surprise that night

You said steel but I think you meant white gold daytona. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for the pics. Pity they put 1945 twice in that timeline by mistake, instead of 1954.

Great pics! I would have much preferred to go that, Rolex's equivalent of Downton Abbey, than the one on Bond St. WG Daytona looks fantastic in that James Bond shot. And what are the fillings in the chocs?

Nope... I've asked...also the DeepBlue is not available :P Don't get too excited there. I guess we were all feeling the same when we saw it.

Coombe Abbey is a beautiful venue for any function. I did not know this was on, I live in Coventry, and would have attended if I had known.

Wouldn't that be awesome if they were for sale?
