Looked like a nice evening out.

Funny how the exhibition was in a place of worship. Some people will be praying to get some of those pieces!

Thanks for the write up and great pics.

I was lucky to attend that event. I will post some other pics in a bit.

It was invite only and as Kelv said it was a joint showing by Goldsmiths in Birmingham Leicester Nottingham and Merry Hill. WOS Birmingham and a mappin & Webb store.

We were very well looked after and everyone was made to feel special. All of the staff were superb and couldn't do enough for you and very relaxed. I believe it was the CEO of the Aurum group spoke as did the head of Rolex for the North of England and they were available for questions after.

The cabinet with the Daytona models was for pre order only, along with the D-blue and the Basel releases.

Pretty sure that the diamond encrusted model that Kelv showed a picture of was bought for £104k.

There was a BLNR in the cabinet to purchase that lasted about 20 minutes as well.

The Rolex chocs as you left was a nice touch. My other half was happy drinking her own weight in Taittinger champagne as well.

Some of my pics. I didn't take many but hey ho.

As can be expected the new SD43 got most of the attention and crowds.
The D-blue looked absolutely resplendent under the lights on the opposite side of the room and there was a steady stream of people waiting to try that on and try and buy it.

I found two new pieces I would like, one pretty obtainable and the other a lottery winning watch I'm afraid (both pictured)

My wife and I were invited by the same company to their event at Grand Pacific in Manchester.

Got to try in all the watches I have in order and bought the DJ41 on the night...I think it looks amazing on the jubilee with the WG bezel

thanks for sharing your pics Shaky. I didn't get any shots outside and it was way too dark by the time we left.

I did not realise there was a BLNR. No wonder there was an empty gap in one of the displays but luckily I already have one. Just waiting for the LV now.

It's a shame I we couldn't get to meet up with fellow TRF members but I would feel a bit of a fool walking round asking if folks were TRFers. Lol

Would have been a nice time to chat with fellow WIS.

Having Said that it would have been good to chat, my other half who has a keen eye recognises you from your shirt sleeve !!

It appears that we did speak to each other, as she describes you as tall, thin with a goatee beard. You commented oh her Tudor BB red that she was wearing.

If so I did see you trying on the D-blue as well

Which did you prefer, the SD43 or the D-blue ??

Ha. that wasn't me mate ;)

Personally I prefer the SD43 if I were to pick between the 2. D-blue is just too tall for me.

The new DJs with markers thicker than pointers look awful. The thick markers make it difficult to find the pointers at a quick glance. It is a shame that Rolex, going after the big watch vulgarity, has jumped the shark.

What a great looking event, guys, thanks for the photos! Cool architecture on the grounds, nice interiors, great looking watches, and you didn't forget to include the occasional eye candy here and there, lol. Kind regards, -Rick.
