I'm guessing it's a Patek crowd. Rolex is too gauche for the monied gentry...

As one who is left handed, I view the word gauche as sinister
Actually, I think it is gauche to wear your watch on the left hand

Don't know about the Latin, but a person's left side and left hand was called the sinister side in the medieval era because that's where people would hide weapons in a time when everyone expected you to have your weapon in your right hand. Kind of like Ehud in the book of Judges in the Old Testament.

Also, in heraldry the left side is the "sinister" side. With a few exceptions, any emblem on a coat of arms will be facing to the right as you look at, away from the sinister side.

Sorry to put everyone asleep. I realize how nerdy I am.

I describe myself as ambisinistrous - which I think means equally useless at writing with either hand.

I'd give my right arm to be ampidextrous.

I am left handed for things requiring strength, tennis, boxing, but right handed for things requiring finesse, writing for example, but was forced to write with my right hand at school in the 70's, would probably just be lefty without that

Not to forget Omega of course. William famously still wears his Seamaster.

Good party though
