3135 versus a 3136 movement

Hello all,

I am still very new to the forum but am alittle obsessed with my first Rolex which is a Datejust II with a 3136 movement and from my limited research it’s just a 3135 with some type of paraflex shock spring and I assume this is so it can take a harder hit if encountered with no damage also does the 3136 run any differently than the 3135 like in accuracy, mine has since day one ran fast so am curious as once it wears in will the time get more accurate, and by fast it’s only seconds

You basically have it right. It also has a larger main plate than the 3135.

Thanks for the reply, also as I have noticed my new watch seems to run fast like in seconds, I set the time more than once to the second and fully wound it 30-40 times and at the end of Day it’s about 4 secs fast but if i set it after being fully wound and don’t wear it does not gain any time which confuses me

All mechanical movement will vary slightly in different positions thats why they are tested in 5 positions, so in one static position could vary to wearing on wrist.

I sincerely appreciate your input and I know I have read that only being off say 5 secs a day is still within COSC specs so with all my rambling can it say be 35 secs fast by weeks end and be in spec ?

I think what is confusing to me is it say -4/+6 a day so is that everyday like 5 secs fast on Monday then running 10 fast on Tuesday etc...

After 7 days it could be running 28 seconds slow or running 42 seconds fast and still be within spec. Less than a minute off in a week is pretty accurate. But amount of wind, daily use, and different resting positions will all effect accuracy.

Today I reset the time to the Forum clock and will wear it everyday for the whole month and see what the month total is off and from what you guys are saying after a month it could be up to 2 min slow or 3 mins fast in a month and can be controlled with some self regulating with crown up or down
