Brand New Daytona - Time Grapher

Brand new... getting +4 278 amplitude and .5 beat error.

Is this normal in face up?

Also what is lift angle for a sky dweller?

That beat error is in the high side but within spec.

Rate in one position tells you nothing.

What about amplitude? On lower side but within spec?

I’m not an expert but I have a 3 year old 116520 that is 0 to +1/day accurate with same amplitude as yours but only 0.1ms max beat error in any position.
Your beat error is a little bit high.

That amplitude is on the low side for a new watch.

However your best bet to see if it is a problem is to wear it for a day and set it down in a safe place and then see how long the power reserve is.

Your amplitude is fine, your best error is in tolerance and and timing results are also fine. Beat error has a tolerance for a reason, same as amplitude and timing.

Now, when you go to a good independent watchmaker he should take the time to put everything as close to perfect as possible.

You know Rolex churn a million of these out a year right?

Agreed, amplitude is fine.

This check was probably done on a cheap timegrapher with the movement inside the case, I bet that the beat error is lower when it is outside of the case and on a Witschi.

Why would one buy a timegrapher if all it makes you do is worry about things you do not fully understand?
