Watch winder Beware!!!!
Last August I bought a Wolf 2.0 winder and on several sites mentioned how much I liked it. Well, it quit this weekend. So this morning I called Wolf and the customer service was not only rude but basically said, too bad. I then called Orbita for some questions. I already have a one watch winder from them. As usual, they were extremely nice and said that they give a 2-3 year warranty and also warranty the promotional ones. He said just call them and they will issue a RMA. So even though Orbita is a bit expensive in the long haul things work out. You get what you pay for but Wolf's are not inexpensive but still China trash. I got several replies stating the same thing happened to them. If anyone bought a Wolf from my recommendation I sincerely apologize. =) maverick

I had a similar expereince
Last March I bought a two watch winder. It had a nice wooden box and a drawer under it to store watches. I bought it at a jewelery store taht also sold me my first single Orbita, which works flawlessly. 2 1/2 months after I bought the double winder, it took a dump. Keep in mind this was a $600 winder. I took it back to the jeweler, and they turned it back in to the manufactor.
They gave me a Orbita Sparta double winder that has a nice wooden box. I had to pay a couple of bucks extra, but it was worth it. BTW, after I got my new winder, I saw the old one's book that comes with it. It gave a warning that since both watches spin on the same disk, they need to be similar in weight, and you cant use only one watch on it, as it puts strain on the motor. It has to have balance. What a stupid design. My advise is if you want a double winder, get one that has 2 seperate spinners, not one that just holds two watches. My double orbita has not missed a beat, plus I can set seperate turns per day for what watch sits on it. |

I have to say that I have never heard much negative about Orbita winders. I only have the low end, single Sparta design, but it works like a charm. Over 1 year in I have had no issues with it, and the design has great battery life (still the original set in there that came with the unit).

Hey all,
A watch winder is not something I really considered until I did my research and found that it is a real benefit to the long term health of the watch... so I ask your opinion I found this on Ebay is this a good starter winder? Is the price right? http://cgi.ebay.com/Orbita-Single-Au...QQcmdZViewItem Thanx for any input,

Not the prettiest for sure... the price is awfully tempting, I'm going to see how much they'll charge me for shipping to the Great White North first though!
This seller has some really nice stuff as well have a look at this listing... http://cgi.ebay.com/18k-Yellow-Gold-...QQcmdZViewItem

With one female and two male Rollies in the house, my watches keep themselves pretty busy all night...hence, no need for a watch winder for me!!

I have two LeBlanc triple winders that work great. Each winder is driven separately and is individually adjustable for CW, CCW and alternating. And they are very quiet.
I also have a Steinhausen Quad winder that doesn't work nearly as well and it's noisy. It gets the job done, but only barely.
