Your college degree and your Rolex.

This is inspired by the your Rolex and your profession thread.

Now I'm from England where we call it university and you only do one subject but I understand the Americans amongst you minor and major in things etc.

Personally I'm in my first semester at college and also trying to run a business. My degree is in accounting. I will be getting a Subc or Explorer II as soon as I save my last £500 or so. I currently have a Breitling and a JLC Reverso.

So did you go to college ? If so what is your degree subject ? and obviously which Rolex/Rolex's do you own ?

Never went for a formal education, has the grand-daddy of Rolex, haha - love it.

I went to uni, dopped out, worked for 3 years, back at uni for 3 weeks now finishing my last... 2 subjects LOL (Yes, dropped out with 2 to go, can't help it, money comes first).

Will finally graduate in 2 months with B.Com, majors in International Business and Trade, Finance and Accounting - CA and CPA eligible, but pursuing CA program.

Mind you, I actually never made that much $ from my job (next job pays much better though ).

When I was desperate I turned to losing money in the stock market, and put more than a couple good Rolex's worth in the pool and lost it, finally on the other side that sees me profiting now, well worth the experience!!! Wish I did it cheaper though, still some hit and miss, I just make sure I'm hitting bigger, haha - highly recommend nobody to enter the stock market unless they have balls of steel - I had many sleepless nights due to my own idiocy and error. (Now I have some great stories though!)

Currently own a Big Red Panda, ordering a WG Daytona and the new Oysterflex soon.

How about a little thread hijack.....eh, thread enhancement:

Since, conventional wisdom says a college degree is usually associated with higher financial success and the ability to afford things like a Rolex, and not having a college degree is usually associated with lower wage jobs and the inability to afford the finer things (we all know the huge exceptions like Bill Gates and Richard Branson), then if you stipulate no college degree lets also hear what industry you are in!

OK, since you make it easy, I reiterate...I am just a loxmyth with five relatively inexpensive Rolex wrist watches, and a taste for rather inexpensive Melbecs, thanks to G : )

This one is better!

Ok I'm a LT in the fire dept. Explorer II , my irons man wears a GMT or sometimes an Omega . 30 years of investing , dollar cost averaging , not trying to time the market and just riding it out brought me to a seven figure net worth by 50, currently 58 .

Congrats to you for your stay investment strategy! And, if you were at a million in 2009 after the market dropped 50% from 2007 then huge kudos to you! The market has risen 3x since then, so now you must be a baller.

Thank you! Most guys I work with drive 50k pick ups and have jet skis , Harley's and so on . I drive an '04 Buick.... But our two kids ( an RN and CPA ) have no college debt . It was a choice we made early on, live below our means and save and invest , honestly it's pretty simple if you have discipline and a long term time Horizons.

Watch out when I retire in a year ! Going to buy a new SUV and if I had the wrist size, I'd like a Yachtmaster II ......

Nearly the same for me - at a job interview, prior to going to grad school, the interviewer chuckled and asked what I was going to do with a major in philosophy.

Sub C no date (and many preceding it).

A degree in engineering is the mental equivalent to navy seal training. I’m sure the training helped you even if the diploma doesn’t
