It had to happen... broke my Glidelock

I'm super clumsy.

I can't believe it took me this long to damage a Rolex.

After making an unbelievably clumsy move, my 126619LB Glidelock disassembled itself.

I THINK there is no damage, but one of the two part number 39's ("Sliding Shoe") was launched on my patio, and an hour on hands and knees has not found it. It's a patio of paving stones, and I'd need to pull up every stone and search the sand/base to find it.

How can I buy one?

Oof sorry to hear. I wonder if you can just take the glidelock clasp off and send that into the RSC for repair/replacement. I imagine they'll want the entire watch for documentation purposes though.

I'm also sure a white gold clasp is not cheap.

So, I tried to sort of, from my knees, jerk the back of the lounger up while I was sort of on it. Dumb.

It did not "catch", and as I fell back level, the back of the chair hooked under the clasp.

I believe the clasp "unassembled" at the "sliding shoes" and this prevented all damage. It's just that one of the sliding shoes has left the building.

It looks like a $.02 part, I figure $45 from Rolex. Just need to know how to buy the part! I hung on to one. No other disassembly occurred.

Bas has spoken….

I’m surprised that an AD would have that part in stock.

Man, I hope I can buy the part online. I can reassemble in five minutes.

I dread the local AD more than the DMV.

That’s actually a great description of the events that took place.

Sorry this happened.

Only two Jack and Diet Cokes... but I've been naturally clumsy long before drinking age.

Ok, I got it. Going forward that’s what you tell everyone about your broken clasp. You broke it steer wrestling. I’ll back you.

I was there too; saw the whole thing!

TRF sticks together brother

Kidding aside I hope you can get your watch fixed quickly; sounds like Bas has confidence (which in turn would give me great confidence…I’ve never seen him be wrong yet on a technical question / difficulty of repair issue…he’s the man!)

Very funny and a scene I've been the protagonist of far too many times (sans watch damage, thank God). OP, here's to you getting the clasp fixed in no time!

Cheers

I accidently disassembled one of mine but managed to keep both shoes. Really easy to fix - if you have the parts. Good luck.

Getting the part is probably going to be a pain.
Hope Rolex doesn’t force you to buy a new clasp.

Take the watch to your AD for repair. The day after you pick it up, you'll find the missing part. Simple.

Don’t be silly. They’ll want him to have a full service, polish and return it 8 months after sending it in :-p

A metal detector should help you find it. They can be rented

First, very much understand as my wife must be your long-lost 'sister'. Thankfully, like my wife, you have a WONDERFUL casual 'knowing' this type of sh-- WILL happen, it's just a matter of time.

Congratulations! You, kind sir, Know Thyself

PS: After less than a few weeks, did you lose your brand new 36mm Celebration Dial OP *somewhere* in the house... you think? Asking for a friend.

PPS: Easy fix on your clasp, AD's watchmaker will surely will take care of it.

It's a little piece of plastic! Few metal detectors will help.
