I've had both, and after a couple of months of zero wrist time, the sub was sold. The BLNR is now my one and only.

I found the sub to be just too monochrome. I do prefer the bracelet, no question there, but I like the subtle color difference in the GMT bezel and the additional complication.

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if down the road another sub fell into my collection. I'm not used to having just one watch.

I have more love for the BLNR, the sub is a great watch but I have a soft spot for the BLNR

No, although the Sub is a perfect design, the GMT would be my choice, I like the GMT feature and, yes, the date, does make a difference to me even though it disrupts the symmetry of the face.

I have both and enjoy switching between the two. The Sub no date is my casual every day watch, while the BLNR is my slightly dress up watch. I travel a ton and the GMT comes in handy, although I just do look at my phone most of the time if I need to do some complex time zone calculations.

I think it really comes down to how much you like a particular watch - I also have a TT sub (16613LN) that just doesn't do it for me anymore. My wife has started to groove to Subs and that particular watch has gained a whole new life once I resized it and gave it to her. :)

SubC 114060 was my first Rolex and I acquired BLNR 2 years later. Both are great watches and I loved both watches. BLNR are more for Monday to Friday and SubC for the weekends for me. So it would very much depends on what you will want with your watch. If out of the 2 I could only choose 1, I would go for the SubC for the versatility.

Cheers.

After considering a few different models, I chose the sub no date for a few reasons:

Stainless steel bracelet (no PCL's)
Goes with absolutely everything
I personally have no use for a GMT function
Simple, timeless and elegant. I enjoy the simplicity of the no date dial.

Can't go wrong either way though!

You really can’t go wrong with either.

Personally I love Watches with a bit of personality and a splash of colour. I’ve owned a SubC and whilst I liked it, I just didn’t love it.

However I now have a BLNR and Love it.

Both are superb watches, Sub has glidelock that is great but for me, the BLNR is just a bit more special.

I would (and did) buy a Sub ND over the BLNR.

For one, I'm not in love with the black/blue combo. If Rolex ever put the blue/red on a stainless stell GMT, that would be another question entirely, but we all know that won't happen (and the colors are off anyway). I don't like PCLs, either. Most importantly, I think the bezel numbers are too loud and gaudy.

The Sub ND is sublime - perfectly symmetrical dial, no cyclops wart, brushed bracelet, etc. And you save $$$ compared to the GMT. That's my choice!
