I would go with the 104 for the manual wind and automatic, or even the 164. I LOVE the brushed case of the 164.
It's a tough choice though. Also, the 104 will ride just a bit higher up as the caseback is thicker. I find this a good thing. |

i dont know ive always seen the 104 as ugly. i know the date is useful but pams are big that i never wanted to clutter the face. probably because the clean dial is very classic.
the choice is yours 104 is very practical automatic with date. |

I would also say the 164. I had one, and the dial and the brushed case is really nice.
However the sandwich dial on the 111 is reason enough to get it!:-) |

Can you perform a quick strap change with the 111? I'm debating the same thing, 104 vs. 111 but I like the sandwich dial so much so I'll probably end up with the 111.

Old thread, but no, the 111 is a screw system only.

I was having a difficult time trying to decide between the 111 and 104 as well. I am a big fan of the sandwich dial. One of my watches was stolen from the gym last year and it had a see through case back. I wanted the 111 to replace the stolen watch as I often enjoyed viewing the mechanism. All of my watches were automatic, so I was hesitant to go with a manual wind. I typically end up adjusting the times on all of my watches whenever I wear one of them, so winding it was not too cumbersome. It did take a little getting used to at first. I really enjoy wearing my 111 on the weekends. I just purchased a deployant buckle and 3 oem straps for it. If money were not an object than I would go 312 as it offers the best of both worlds.
Which ever watch you choose you cannot go wrong with either choice. |

111 for me!
Sandwich Dial, brushed screw guard, no date, manual wind. Simplicity and originality at its best.
