My new TT Datejust !!!

After much debate over a new dress watch, I finally pulled the trigger today on a TT YG/SS Datejust with the roman numerals. The "debate" I had in my head was that after wearing so many larger watches, the Datejust just seemed so small. But in trying on datejusts time and time again at various ADs over the last month and in researching my decision on the web, I began to appreciate the Datejust for what it is... a true classic, a timeless dress watch that fits perfectly under a cuff! Exactly what I was looking for and just the watch I needed to wear with suits at work. It didn't hurt that the AD I usually do business with was willing to give me a hefty discount.

At 31, alot of guys my age look at the Datejust as "an old man's watch". I think this just proves the timelessness of the DJ. It appeals to all ages. Here are 2 Q&D pics I snapped off quickly tonight (I haven't even had time to remove the stickers!) with and without flash...

Fantastic watch, Chris. I disagree with the opinion that it's an "old man's watch," but it is a watch that looks as good on someone 95 as it does on someone 25. The true definition of a timeless timepiece!

Great choice...I love that watch!!! Would that be the Champaign or Ivory dial? Looks lighter then the Champaign but darker then the Ivory

wow..beautiful...I was about to buy similar setup but with white dial, but seeing yours in champagne...hmm...I might go your route.
Do you mind if I ask what kind of deal you got from sticker price? and where you got yours from?

I agree with you, the DJ is growing on me, but then again, I'm not as young as I like to think, at 41. I didn't use to like them at all, but lately I'm thinking of adding one to my collection. Enjoy yours, it looks great, though I'm not to fond of roman dials myself...

Beautiful indeed. Not a big fan of champagne dials, but those Romans just about light up the watch!!

Thanks!

Here are a few more pics I snapped yesterday...

I love the jubilee bracelet with the hidden clasp. Unfortunately, I didn't see the smudge on the links that came through in this picture. (They wiped right off.)

On the winder

With mine, not at all. If you look close, the hands are colored black to make them more visible against the champagne dial. With gold hands against a gold dial, it would be hard to read. I think the black colored hands are a newer feature and I definitely like it.

It's hard to see in the pics but the romans have a black outline inside them too.
