My AD told me not to overtighten the crown so the gaskets don't get damaged. Well to tighten it fully would lead the crown another 1/3 of a turn clockwise. All rolex promo material has it lined up so i'm guessing it's fine that way. There is resistance at that setting which must mean the gaskets are sealing.

I do the same, I keep it firm but not tight. I just give it a "nip" tighter if I'm going swimming!

Your AD is correct. Just tighten the crown until it STOPS!! That's it. No need to over-tighten.

The watch will still retain its full waterproofness with a normal screw down of the crown.
