Icon14 New guy here, old watch

Awesome website! A guy at a car show recommended this site when he noticed my watch. I bought my Submariner used in the early 90's. I really couldn't afford it at the time, but it was the least expensive one I could find. I always knew it was different than other Submariners, I wasn't even sure it was real until it stopped working and I bought it to a certified dealer. They told me it was definitely worth fixing.

Fast forward 20 some years and with the help of the fantastic info on this site, I see my crazy purchase paid off. Model # 5513 serial # 1,6xx,xxx. Meters first.

I made the mistake 20 years ago of having the bezel and lens replaced when servicing. They gave me the old parts back, minus the faded and scratched bezel(wish now i had asked for it back).

Thanks everyone for a great website. Suddenly I feel the need for a new watch!

You definitely need a new Rolex. But don’t get rid of the old one.

Where in upstate NY are you from? I grew up there.

Welcome to the forums!

Keschete, Yes I had my Yenko Nova replica.

Nice Viper. That would give my 911 Turbo a run for it's money.
