Officer Down, Jersey City PD New Jersey

Detective Joseph Seals was shot and killed at yesterday 12:30 pm in Bayview Cemetery after encountering two subjects in a van that was linked to a homicide in Bayonne, New Jersey.

During the encounter, Detective Seals was shot in the back of the head. The two subjects then fled in the stolen van and eventually barricaded themselves inside of a grocery store on Martin Luther King Drive. They murdered three people inside of the store and then engaged responding officers in a prolonged shootout for several hours in which two officers were wounded. Both subjects were eventually found deceased inside of the store.

Detective Seals had served with the Jersey City Police Department for 13 years and had served in law enforcement for a total of 18 years. He is survived by his wife and five children.

Godspeed my brother, may your family both blood and blue find peace and solace.

This thread involves numerous things against the rules. Violence towards persons or animals, religion and the use of banned items. Yet these seem to get posted regularly. It offends me.

I’m not sure what you’re asking but I can assume. Apples and oranges.

My son is working in Jersey city, he loves the USA. I saw this, this morning, it sent a chill down my spine. Luckily he came home for a week yesterday. I am in awe and am extremely grateful to those men and ladies of the police force that would have given their life protecting my son if he had been there.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the policeman that was cruelly murdered.

For the record these threads do not offend me. I was attempting to argue that some of TRF's rules seem to be interpreted with bias. It was poor form to drag that argument into this thread and I am done posting about this.

It has been made clear to me that the mods are not just here to enforce the rules but also interpret them which is fine by me. I certainly don't want to do their job.
