I vastly prefer that Sub, but you should live in the moment and do it, because you’ve already been thinking about it for six months. Before you do, perhaps wear nothing but that Sub for a whole week to see if you can find the old spark you had when you bought it.

I’m an IWC fan, and own one. But I would not make that trade. There are IWC’s I would trade the 14060 for, but not that one.

I’m down with IWC, I just don’t care for that reference. Having said that, OP claims the 14060 does nothing for him. Smoke the sub, get the IWC if that’s the one you like. You do you.

If the IWC owner kicked in some cash, I'd make that trade, especially if you have other Subs

Its not the IWC i'd go for of all their references but i do enjoy the color scheme
I'm hoping IWC release this color scheme in a Big Pilot in the future

You bought the sub for a reason. Think back to why
you bought it.
I have sold several Rolex models and regret it.
The IWC is nice but in no way does it hold the
Historical significance of the Sub.
Think about that.

That IWC will be outdated in a flash.

Since this is a hobby where emotion rules over logic, and you’ve stated that the 14060 doesn’t really sing to you, then I reckon it’s better to make the trade and be happy.

A watch that brings a smile to your face every time you look at it, I think that is priceless.

Whether it’s cars, watches, paintings, stamps, you name it, many items come and go, but some pieces should remain in your permanent collection…permanently.

Since you’re asking, no trade, keep that sub.

But do what makes YOU happy, life is short.

Sub. Nothing against the IWC, but it’s not a Sub.

It sounds like you've made up your mind; you like one and don't really like the other. Go for the IWC....but do so with the long game in mind. Your Rolex will always be worth the same or more; the IWC will decrease in value. Have the other side add the cash to cover that delta.

I’d probably sell everything else you own and just wear that 14060m every day.

I'm a big fan of IWC ceramic Pilots, but no, I would imagine the novelty of the blue would, for me, grow stale quickly.

Haha, no way. You’re overthinking it. Keep the watch and move on with your life (take on another hobby, focus on something else).

i agree that the sub can be really boring but replacing it with blue iwc pilot watch is a severe downgrade.

go with what you like but you might regret in the long run

No reason to keep wearing something you don't like. But if I were you, I'd just stash that 14060M with your other Rolex 5-digit watches and add the IWC to your collection.

OMG seriously?!?

That IWC is really horrible, trendy at best. Keep that 4-line sub ... I mean by a country mile!

Sub all the way. Don't think that IWC will age well at all. Can you imagine wearing it in 10-20 years time?

Sub is timeless...

OP, if I was you I'd take most of the responses that simply say "no" (or similar) with a pinch of salt. Yes that's their opinion, but it's based on their own ideals and beliefs... not yours.

IMO, you should only keep a watch if you feel something when you look at it and when you wear it. OK, so the 14060M is an icon - to that I say, "so what?". Just because it's iconic to some/most (and I have one myself incidentally) it doesn't mean you automatically have to love it. I also don't hold with the view that you may "mature" into it. If we live our lives with that attitude we may as well all just buy Velcro shoes and Zimmerframes as soon as we hit puberty as we'll no doubt all mature into those someday too!

To me, watches are a journey of experience and learning, not a race to get that "be all and end all" collection in the shortest possible time. On a personal note I've always bought what I like a point in time. Some I've sold and then re-bought years later, while others I've sold and never thought twice about. Why keep something because society / conventional wisdom tells you it's an icon if it does little for you?

My advice, buy what YOU like, when YOU like it, and forget about the opinions of other.

(That said, on a personal note, I wouldn't choose that particular IWC if I was going to trade. Too loud and a bit gimmicky IMO.... but then that is just my opinion!)

Please keep the Sub! The No-date 14060m is a classic and will get more desired as life goes on! (Yes all 14060M’s are no date, just saying)
