Extreme close up! ... Of the platinum BLNR bezel

Mucking around with new macro extension tubes for the camera and thought it would be interesting to see up close and personal with the BLNR's ceramic bezel and deposited platinum. To me looks like a work of art and even at extreme magnification the smooth lines of the font looks awesome! :D

That's some lens; you can see the grain from the machining (I'm an Engineer and love this stuff...)

Very cool shot in deed. Curious if it's an etch and sputter or evaporation process. Perhaps using resist to define the openings.

Lovely picture, thanks.

With most other brands, it's often a bad idea to use a loupe or other magnifier to look too closely - with Rolex, it just emphasises the precision machined beauty. You could cut yourself on those numerals, they're that sharply done.

The platinum deposit is gorgeous too. I don't think I've ever read why Rolex do that? Obviously it looks beautiful, but Rolex normally has a practical motivation behind such choices...
