I took it back to the shop and told them I was rejecting it. I got all my money back and bought a Rolex Sub ceramic date. I now find out that Breitling have discontinued this model, and more importantly have stopped using the ETA mech which is inside these watches. Sorry, but that is how it is.

sorry, but you are wrong on a few things there. they have not discontinued the watch, and they still use that eta based movement, its the breitling 37, its based on an eta 2895-2 and is used in the soh 38 and galactic 36.

That may be true in America, but here in the UK they have discontinued it.

I would love that in Bronze,

But I may have to go for the blue Bezel/Dial and Blue ocean racer strap!

Finally sized correctly, 42mm is a good size for most people I think!

Great watch. I have the SOH 46 with the mesh and bought the rubber strap for a change up. This watch is my best time keeper I have. +2.2 seconds per day and virtually no variation in any position. I love the plain dial - refreshing as most of my watches have the chrono function. The modified eta movement has been in production a long time and is a proven performer despite the unfortunate experience of another user. The black face sometimes takes on a deep navy look due to the coatings. Two faces in one! If you have a chance to get the mesh bracelet you will love that as well. Fits like a glove and look great IMHO. I hope you get as much enjoyment from this watch as I do mine.

I love the 42mm size for the SOH. I also wish they had a bronze option. Would be neat to see a bronze dial with black bezel, and vise versa.

Nice watch. I am undecided between the Breitling Superocean Heritage 42mm blk/blk on rubber strap or an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 42mm blk/blk on rubber strap.

I know the Omega PO is 42.7mm wide, 14.5mm thick, and 90 grams in weight (case only). Does anyone know the dimensions of the SOH 42? And does anyone own both in that they can talk about the comparison between the two ir maybe even show photos?
