Navitimer 01 LE
Thought I would share my new Navitimer 01 LE, just bought it yesterday.
photo.JPG I was fortunate to find this limited edition new. It was an impulse buy, and is quite comfortable to wear. The colour (black/white) combination is really striking. |

Thanks for the compliments.
I was surprised myself at how bling the watch is. I was not a great fan of Breitling watch before this, but this one changed my mind. Due to the anti-glare coating of the crystal, the dial gives out something like a deep dark blue colour in real life. The bazel being slightly wider than the case, the white (busy) scale and the white sub-dials, and silver printing, in combination, all these gives the watch a really 3D hollow effect, stunning! I am really in love with the Navitimer, and this will be my daily wear, for now... |

Congrats !
Surprised they are still available new. That LE came out years ago. Whatever the reason, good for you and hope you enjoy it for many years ! Have always liked the Navitimer, iconic watch. And the LE is the icing on the cake.

Gents,
I have seen versions of the 01 with the gold Breitling wings- and others with the silver wings like this one pictured above Why the difference- or have I been looking at 2 different Navitimer versions? |

The Limited Edition version of which 2000 were made, has the wings logo in white gold on the dial. It also has a clear case back, red numbers on the date wheel and it's individual number on the side of the case.

So the Navitimer version with the gold wings is a standard/normal edition?

The LE with the white gold wings was released when the first started to put the in-house 01 movement in the Navitimer. I think after that, they decided to continue the model with the 01 movement and made some changes (non LE). The one thing that goes for the LE is also the transparent case back, which is not normal for a Breitling.
So the standard edition is newer but the four changes made was the case back, gold wings, date with a black background/ white lettering, and no LE xxx/2000 inscription at the 9 o'clock side of the case. |

Mine wears pretty well for a 6.5 wrist. I think the white bezel makes it look a little smaller

Looks awesome and the flagship of the Breitling brand has always been the Navi! Plays bigger on the wrist because its all dial but looks so good..
