Houston, Texas ADs

Hello, new guy here. Loving this forum, amazed at how active it is. I have a Sub no date on order from my local AD. In the meantime I am looking for a Sub Hulk.

I live fairly close to Houston, TX and I see that there are numerous Rolex dealers there, including four close together just west of Houston proper.

1. Is it okay to call them and ask what inventory they have or is this frowned upon ?

2. Anyone here on the forum with knowledge of the current state of inventory in Houston?

3. I guess I would be looking at full msrp on this model, but do ADs sometime charge more than msrp?

4. Anyone that recommends a certain Houston AD?

Thanks in advance...

It's definitely OK to call them. They're in the retail business. If they're not helpful and friendly on the phone then I'd call the next one. You're the customer and you should be treated respectfully.

Use Takuya, he is a trusted on here and in Texas. He has a brand new Hulk in stock. But with the Hulks keep in mind that they are selling for a premium right now.

your price for the Lvc is going to likely be cheaper at an AD compared to the trusted dealers as stock for the sought after models is low. Definitely call the AD's. Lee Michaels here in San Antonio has a nice collection of Rolex sports watches but last I looked no Lvc.

I think they have them, just not always out in the case. Definitely worth checking.

If I find one I could ask for them to ship it to me to avoid sales tax, is this correct?

Yes, but some frown on that here.

If sold in Texas, i believe you have to pay the sales tax.

If the item is received in Texas, you pay tax. If bought in Texas and shipped to another state where the company doesn’t have a physical location then there’s no sales tax.

I've purchased a couple of watches from a Houston AD. Great folks. They were kind enough to throw in some great swag, Wolf watch winders, as well as letting me bypass the tax while at the same time allowing me to walk out the door with my purchases and not have them shipped out of state. Do they advertise this? Likely not. I think it had a lot to do with fostering a good relationship with them during my visits to the store prior to my making the purchases. If you like (OP), feel free to PM me and I can give you the name of a great sales person who helped me out.

This is correct. I just did it.
Bought in Houston, paid for in Houston, shipped to Florida then back to me.

Last time I talked to them they told me they could order the Hulk for me if I wanted it.

Maybe a dealer in Houston is willing to order what you want.

Deutsch & Deutsch on Westheimer did a couple months ago but their galleria Rolex botique didn't as they are both the same AD. They had a sea dweller 43 too. Tried both on and they were available for purchase. Obviously not there now, but they seem to be a better choice than the boutique as its not in the galleria and there are less window shoppers. I was randomly there and they had them so its not unheard of.

OP also call the AD in Tyler Texas. They had BLNR on display a few months ago too although those are not as hard to find. They are a small AD and no one seems to go there.

Hi. I am a newbie on this forum and to rolexes. I am interested in connecting with OpusXIII to share information as I live in houston. I’ve tried using the PM function but I do not think i am using it correctly sinc I do not see any thing in my sent message folder.

So OpusXIII - pl send me a PM that I can hopefully respond to. Thank you.
