While blue is my favorite color. Something seems off to me on the GMT. But I also dislike PCL and the glide lock is essential for me regarding fit. Oh and also the sub looks better on your wrist.

I flipped my SubC a few years back, and don’t miss it much. It’s a fantastic watch, but IMO just lacks personality.

I have a BLNR now and absolutely love it. I love the personality of the PCL and a splash of colour.

Absolutely BLNR with a dash of blue gets my vote; SubC seems ubiquitous and may lose its personality.

Tough call!!! You could get both eventually like Larry said...
Which would be the best option ... or get a BLNR and call
it a day... An all in one so to speak !!!

Andre,

That sub looks great with your ink. I wanted to love the BLNR. Looks fantastic in pictures. Put one on and meh.... the colour just didn’t work (I too have a colourful arm). Just didn’t work.

I do wonder if after a while you would look down at the BLNR and think that the colour in the bezel and 24 hour hand was just too much against your arm.

So the question has really boiled down to "Which works best/doesn't clash with my ink"?

In that case I withdraw my first response since it was based only on the attributes of the watches themselves. Color-coordination concerns matching colorful tattoos with colors on watches wasn't included in the original question, and since that particular fashion-related worry is outside my realm of experience an answer based on it never entered my head. I don't know what to tell you.

Not really and you’re overthinking it, but for those of us with tattoos under our watches it can become a consideration

After years of wearing the Sub, I am now a BLNR daily wearer. Plus, guys with Subs love to get a close up look at it.
However, after 3 years, I’m looking at a change.

No way I’d flip a SubC for a BLNR. The BLNR is a nice watch, but the SubC is, well, a Sub. My colleague wears a BLNR and, although a lovely watch, I’ve grown tired of the blue.

I own the BLNR and I would choose this model again over a Sub.
The blue is not very dominant and you can combine it to a lot of clothes....

The BLNR is my daily and I found the PCLs too flashy as well. Added an Everest black band and I love the more casual look.

I agree! IMO, the Sub is the icon of icons. I would save for the BLNR and either switch out the bracelets and/or purchase a 97200 bracelet specifically for it. I have both pieces, as well as a 97200 bracelet. I realize I could swap out my SubC bracelet, but I'm weird like that and want to keep my original bracelet on my SubC and not get it disproportionately more beat than my Sub case. I think selling your Sub has future flip regret written all over it. In my case, any value lost will be minimal, if any. I'll easily be able to sell my 97200 at or close to what I purchased it at because they're not easy to come by since Rolex won't piece them out. Just my two cents.

I'd keep the Sub, it's the original tool watch, can't go wrong. Plus the brushed bracelet will hide scratches better than the PCL's on the BLNR, especially with everyday wear.

I have both and love both, but the SubC always ends up getting more wrist time. Just so solid and think I like the simplicity of it more. Sometimes the big numbers look a little cartoonish to me on the BLNR........but don't get me wrong its an amazing watch in its own right .

Since I got my BLNR it’s been my daily wearer. My GF has pretty much taken ownership of my Explorer 😂

I love how the BLNR changes color. At night it looks like an all black ceramic watch. And in the right light it just pops like crazy.

I vote BLNR because the blue gives it a litte edge and uniqueness and the SubC is EVERYWHERE.

I have both and prefer the BLNR, but with your collection I'd keep the sub as a daily. It looks great on you.

My preference is the Sub. IMO it’s more flexible and you don’t have to worry about knocking it around with the brushed bracelet.

When I was shopping for my first (and still only) Rolex I had a Tudor BBN which I preferred over the SubC because of the bit of colour it had. So my plan was to get a LV, but during this process the option of getting a BLNR was put on the table. I ended up going with the BLNR.

I love the touch of blue and TBH the PCLs have grown on me. I suppose it adds a bit of flash, but it never looks out of place with casual wear (which I wear 99% of the time).

P.S. I would probably never get a tattoo, but your tattoos with the watch look awesome

I have both and wear my Sub as a daily, the BLNR I wear occasionally. I wouldn't sell your sub for the BLNR. I'm almost sure you gonna regret it. Flip the EXP for the BLNR. What's the point of owing 2 GMT's. The Sub is a absolute classic.

I’d sell the EXP II but it is an L serial which is my birth year. It was difficult to find and I paid a bit of a premium for it. So I’d like to keep it for the sentiment

I prefer the SubC as a daily. Brushed bracelet hides wear better and it looks good with a suit or a tshirt and jeans.

I would go with Subc no PCL's and a Glidelock clasp can't go wrong with that one!
