Rolex watch price in USA Duty Free Shops?

Hi,

I was wondering if I can get a price list or price for a specific model in a duty free shop in the U.S.. Is there any way to find out duty free shop price without actually visiting one? Will they let me know the price over the phone? Do I need to actually visit a shop to find out the price?

Any comments will help.
Thank you!

Wouldn’t it just be the US MSRP, but with no tax charged on top?

Pretty crappy deal if that's the case.

Everything sold in a Duty Free shop excludes all taxes. You must have a valid flight ticket for an overseas flight to qualify. I've never seen Rolex in D F shops, US or overseas. Booze is the biggest seller.

Very many international airports have Rolex shops after customs - which are “duty free” (I can’t speak for the US as it’s been a while since I’ve flown outside of North America from an American airport)

Duty Free just means that you can buy at their cost without-duty taxes. It does not mean that what you buy is or will be free of duty when you enter or re-enter your country.

I’m happy to be corrected on my assumption - and , as there is some level of import tax charged on Rolexes when they are brought into the US, the duty-free price might also exclude this amount.

The US doesn’t have a federal VAT, so you’re basically just saving state sales tax on watches. It’s the same reason you can’t “claim back” tax when leaving the US, unlike many other countries.

Thank you very much everyone for comments.

I am sure that there are Rolex duty free shops in Korea, Japan, UK, etc..

I was able to get some Rolex duty free shop locations information via Google but there was NO information on any Rolex duty free shop locations and phone numbers "in the U.S." on Google.

Does any one know how to find Rolex duty free shop locations and phone numbers "in the U.S"?

Thanks!

Are you just trying to get away with not paying tax?

If so, there are regular ADs in the US that are happy to ship to an out-of-state customer (allowing you to save on tax). You could also buy from a reseller here on the forums and avoid tax.

Not sure why it has to be a duty-free airport dealer...

Well said.

No one comes to the USA to shop 'duty free' (as when visiting Europe.) I highly recommend the Trusted Sellers here, their prices are shown and you can find the MSRP from the sticky at the top of this forum.

There is, but duty free is only duty free in the country in which it is purchased. If you buy on your way out of the US, if you return you will still have to declare it and pay duty to be above board (and pay state tax as well). And if your destination is another country then you will pay whatever applicable import duties that exist at that destination. If its duty free in the foreign country you are departing, its not duty free in the US when you arrive.
