I'm considering buying a Z Series (2006) Blackface 16613 Submariner, but I'm hesitant because the original dial was replaced (reason unknown) with a pre 2000 dial ... price is about 7k... Comments welcome

Run away. Plenty of trusted sellers here with watches without issues.

It clearly bothers you so regardless of what anyone here thinks, you will never be 100% happy with it.
I would walk & keep looking for an all original example.
