Looks like a tick with orangutan arms and pincer hands. Might look good on a caseback as a sea monster.

It's a sculpture from somewhere, I'll find the backstory!!

Here we go, it's a sculpture by Patricia Piccinini called "The Young Family."

weird question but did the ant have a weird smell about it?

we get these beetles in Australia that have the same sheen, locally call them jewel beetles. they seem to have this weird aroma about them, smells like insulin of all things haha

i dont rememeber any smell from it to be honest. but then again i wouldn't really know what insulin smells like- so maybe is the definitive answer

here is another strange one from Christmas Island, the bird looks pretty normal in the pic, but it has only little stumps for legs. Doesn't even have enough power in them to launch into flight from the ground, so they can never land to drink or eat( hence the swooping). They even have to sleep on cliff edges so when they want to take flight again they can some what roll off the edge and get into a glide.
