Vacheron 4500v Blue dial

Are these now going over retail? I saw a few posts for sell now over retail for the blue dial.

You can still get them for retail, but you'll need to hunt a bit and, probably, get on a wait list.

I may be wrong, but I’ve been observing a slow but gradual increase in demand for these. If the economy holds up I wouldn’t be surprised to see greys selling these a few thousand over retail a year from now.

The thing I like about VC is that they don't play games and the brand is understated..
I think it will stay at retail but not premium unless rappers and general insta public picks it up (unlikely as it's not flashy enough)

When i called four ADs in december they said no inventory on 4500Vs, they suggested placing a deposit for an expected april delivery. I happened to find a new one with help from a friend in NY on Christmas eve and pulled the trigger immediately.

I was looking for a brown dial in December. Called many dealer and boutique. Despite being on website it is no longer made. Some of the AD I called had black in stock. Boutique said blue could be ordered but not in stock. I wasn't interested in black or blue so didn't pursue further.

Demand for 4500v really soars. My local AD don't have stock for it for dial of all colour and some even don't have stock for any steel overseas including dual time, chrono and world time. They believe VC started to concentrate sales via their own boutique and some speculate VC may limit the discounts of steel overseas in future.

Beautiful watch and love the design aesthetic but the date wheel is awful.

Yes same story when i was calling brown is dicontinued, one AD heard a rumor silver may go and msrp waitlists with deposits for 3/4 mos. I pretty much knew I wanted and found a black but l would have loved to have seen the brown dial to no avail, the few used brown available I've seen for sale were over msrp. Jomashop had the brown listed two months ago, when i called, chatted twice for availability they never called me back. Today it is relisted at 18% off. I doubt I'd buy a VC there anyway but here's a pic of their ad today. There site shows all 4 colors at different prices..

I was told about a month wait for Blue dial by AD in my country. Black and White dials available immediately. Might have been able to get a discount 5-10% on the in stock, but really love the blue.

I put in an order with a UK based grey dealer that offered a 3-6 month wait on Blue but with a 15-20% discount to retail and on top of that will get the VAT back.

Love the flexibility of the strap changes.

Who is the grey if you don't mind me asking? Quite interested in that particular piece myself

Have also been eyeing the brown dial since i saw it a few years back.

But didnt prioritize it since i thought it was easy to get. My local AD even told it will just take 2 to 3 months to order. And i can get it at a significant discount.

Then sometime last year, it was now time to get one. Lo and behold, the brown was discontinued. My AD says cant be ordered anymore. Some stores may have old stock left but none in our area. So in my travels, asked all VC boutiques and ADs i saw. To no avail.

Because i really wanted it, had to go grey. And paid retail price i think.
