Well I was given a work order from my LBS that on Wednesday I can bring this in and get it built.. This will be the most expensive bike build I have ever done..

Hope you don't mind OP but this seems to be the forum bicycle thread. Your Trek is long gone and the thread has morphed

Here's my new bike picked up today and checked 15 miles across London after collection.

Frameset was purchased from Competitive Cyclist and along with the frame set I also bought The Correct BB" for this bike.. This is not the first Pinarello they have built for me...

I've never ridden anything but flats and this is my first road bike so I thought I'd stick with them for a bit. Once I'm more used to it I'll look at clipping in but initial impressions aren't bad. They're spiked so dig into the trainers/sneakers well.

Colour is a bit weird imo, looks like it has a hunt of pink a lot of the time. Last year's models had better colours

That’s good. I didn’t see it in your pile o parts there. It’d suck to get to the shop and them say “oh, crap. Yeah we need to order that.”

just a reminder, as some shop folks don't realize or don't remember - the high limit screw on early eTap FDs liked to back itself out without some blue loctite intervention. it's a LH-threaded setscew, so once lost, they're hard to find without calling up SRAM.

Bike terms I understand: chain, handlebars, seat, tires.

Bike terms I don’t understand: pretty much everything in this thread.

I just love the matt red of this bike and what really sets it off are those reynolds rzr92 deep dishes with tubular tires.. Photo is on my back deck of the house here in nw ohio...
This was the last year these particular trek bikes were hand built in the USA...

You can see those latex tubes are in the build for the F10 with German Lightweight Wheel Set with Vittoria Ties as well..

I quite honestly will most likely never wear that bottom bracket out as the bike still to this day only has 30 miles on it and that was 2 Sundays ago..:)

Right there with you Joey, this is WAY over my head. I thought I read something about “riding on flats..” Isn’t a flat a bad thing?

I actually DO ride my bike, I have a Trek Dual sport, kind of a hybrid mountain-road bike. It’s not the fastest or lightest but I find it comfortable and enjoyable. I thought I was in to it pretty seriously, spending around $800 for the bike and all accessories. After reading through this thread, I might as well have bought a tricycle

I don’t care if you have a $400 bike or a $12,000 bike, I still maintain that the absolute most important aspect of the sport is that you’re enjoying the ride.

I rode a $66 Schwinn 5-speed from age 13 through medical school. I never locked it, and it was such a beater that it was never stolen despite parking it at urban hospitals for years. I loved that bike and wish I'd never given it away. A lifetime of memories on it.

Ex girlfriend gave away the bike I rode to Alaska on. Wish I would’ve given her away sooner than I did.

Yes! A gold colored Collegiate Sport. $66.95. My first "decent" adult bike. It had chrome fenders, which I removed and plastic tape on the curved handlebars. I'm sure I put thousands of miles on it.
