anyone with a Laurent ferrier ecole regulator?

been offered one at a great price. don't really see these posted very often if at all. I know pre-hype they were having problems, don't know with the slowdown if the same concerns will pop up

Love that watch. I don’t have an ecole, but I do have the LF Sport Auto and I’ve worn the ecole on a few occasions, including during my factory visit. LF watches are impressive… Ferrier definitely caries over the tradition of exceptionalism from Patek. The ecole is special.

I’m not a dress watch guy, but if the deal were good I’d move in on it.

Go for the Patek 5235r - much nicer watch in the metal.

Not if you go grey I imagine. Not sure I like the lug to strap integration on the LF. However - if you can score an LF in the 20-25k i’d jump on it.

Mr. Porter had one recently for $25K. At that price, it is an incredible watch for the money, if the style speaks to you. Any LF micro-rotor movement is a worthy part of a quality collection. As always, YMMV.

I second for 5235R. I spent tons of time studying 5235r before I ordered it. Love the fact that it is the only watch in the whole Patek line up that has several bespoke innovations. Not going to bore you woth details, but it is really that cool. Also, if you notice the dial, it has intentionally slightly asymmetrical placement of the windows between left and right, so that the whole thing end up appearing symmetric.

When the watch finally arrived, I held it in my hand and the SA pissed me off by saying he spoiled my wife as her second patek was a nautilus. I corrected him right away and said I am the only guy in this world who get to spoil my wife. It was awkward to say the least. I left without buying the watch. Walked right into Lange and came home with a Lange 1 moonphase.

Notwithstanding what happened, I love 5235r, the second gen. Not the first. There is a tiny issue with it though, the crystal is not antireflective and at certain angle you the whole dial cannot be seen at all given the dial is gray in color.

All good. Pateks are great. Just amused by how someone starts a thread totally unrelated to Patek and yet someone can’t help but to talk about Patek.

Yeah. Fair point. Though it is quite the feather in the cap.

Congrats! Big fan of the reference. Much more than the 5235r being suggested.
