Pick my new car

My Audi A4 lease expires in Feb, 2024. It’s my second A4 in a row, I would say there is a 75% chance I will go for three in a row.

But I am open to trying something new. I don’t like SUVs, but I am open to EVs. A friend drove us in his BMW i4. Liked it, but rear seat leg room cramped.

Any suggestions, preferably in the A4 price range? Not going for a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

i would at least test drive the Alfa Romeo Giulia; should be able to score a deal too.

on looks alone, it is at least a solid 9/10 (compared to peers.) yea, i know concerns regarding Alfa Romeo reliability and all that but, going by reviews from actual owners its fairly solid. fears about vehicle reliability are overrated imo (just do the due diligence and be comfortable with what you decide.)

Note-- i don't own the Giulia, however it is in my shortlist when I'm ready to upgrade.

If you want to stay in the same realm but have a little more fun I would look at the Golf R.

I’m an Audi guy myself. I’ve had two A6’s and currently an A6 Allroad. I’m a bigger guy and the A4 is little to small for me. They make an A4 Allroad also.

We are on our fifth A4...has been a great model for us. One blown turbo, which was expensive, but for driving in MN, really works well. My wife's primary.

I drive a pedestrian VW Passat, and if I need AWD in winter, we have her car. (My Passat reminds me very much of a Saab 9000 Turbo, which was one of my favorites over the years). YMMV.

Starting from 2015, I was very disappointed in Audi, because they are where they were then. No progress, no "new technology", nothing special. Sad and boring. IMHO try something else :)

If you’re leasing, something in the BMW or MB line would be a good choice for a change.

If you’re buying and plan on holding beyond the warranty, Lexus ES all the way. Not exactly the most sporty car, but the smooth ride and reliability give a great bang for the buck.

Holy cow...already?? I remember last time you were unsure and finally decided to go again with the Audi. Man, time flies. I think you need to try BMW. My brother was a Mercedes fan forever and made a switch a couple of years ago to BMW, I have to agree with him that those cars seems to be a notch above in overall feel and performance.
Alfa Romeo has a great product that is getting better in terms of reliability.
Lexus has the ISF which gets raves reviews as well. Great looker too.
Even Cadillac has their product in that price category, I cannot remember which is it but apparently its impressive.

TIME FOR CHANGE...lol

Long-time BMW fan here. I've also had some Audis, they are great cars, but I always go back to BMWs.

Me too. I’m on my 5th. I always kick the tires of a Mercedes and take a test drive but I just like BMWs better.

Did BMW fix their rubbish steering feel yet?

If you're open to BMW EV, how does Ms. Piggy sound? If you can overcome the front grill, it's a great ultimate laptop with 4 wheels.

bmws look ugly as hell these days and i honestly can't believe they let that happen. the last great looking car they made was the M8. i'm slowly coming around to the new m3/m4 when i see good specs on the road (dark grey and light grey m4 looked very nice) but i still think they're ugly lol. they actually saw how everyone reacted to those grills and doubled down and put them everywhere

in the price range of an a4 you won't get anything really different by going bmw or merc though, the 330 would probably be alright but the A and C base models are really boring. i would just go with the car you find more appealing aesthetically
