I would say the sub ND is a class piece and a great addition to any collection. Personally I can’t justify keeping both so that’s why it’s going. The new addition, having a date ticks every box for me.

If they said they have a Daytona in the safe why not go after that as well? Keep the sub and have the holy trinity of land air and sea?

Yeah, surely ADs must be bitching back to Rolex in droves now, I'm sure even Rolex has got the message.

Congrats OP, I believe supply is relatively unchanged but their safes are now full and the SS are not for people they can't screen.

AD sells the slower moving models first, maybe to try luck towards happy mood buyers. Then buyers need to do some coaxing and PR to get sports model. Unfortunately Rolex themselves can't be selling only sports model, coz Datejust and OP are good margin products too

So a $5 gelato cost you a $9,000 watch? I learned that the hard way once too. I asked my wife to stop at the BMW dealer to purchase a $10 keychain. She came home and said she saw a car on the lot in the "coolest color" she's ever seen. Fast forward years later to today: the car is still in my garage and the key chain is long gone.

Not the Daytona?

Why didn't you get the Daytona man? That's easy money right there, heck I would buy it off you.

Goes to show it pay's off when dealing with a local ad and not randomly calling every dealer around. Your story is pretty common.

Without admitting it. They alluded it was spoken for
And being offered the BLRO I was satisfied. I’m a simple
Guy and didn’t want to push. My family uses this AD for many purchases and a $6-7k flip isn’t worth the possibility of losing watches I want down the road. Not a Daytona fan anyway

Lol no kidding. Same thing happened in April. Sold my 14060m. Got gelato and walked in to browse and was offered the 114060. Dumb luck I guess.

Then again. I got my wife her Birkin bag offered wearing gym clothes LOL
Retail gods must smile on me

So you were offered the BLRO to buy on the spot? Went with the BLNR? I do like the BLNR better but I would have had to buy the BLRO if offered at retail and no I wouldn’t flip it. I just know that watch will command a lot of respect in the next 3-4 years. And I do like the jubilee.
